Edward Mountain MSP to raise Strathpeffer road safety concerns with Highland Council
The Highland Council will be asked by Edward Mountain MSP to consider whether a 40mph limit should be implemented on the A834 from Dingwall to Strathpeffer.
The request for road safety improvements is being made after the Highlands and Islands MSP met concerned constituents during a recent summer surgery in Strathpeffer.
Highlands and Islands MSP, Edward Mountain said:
“I was pleased to meet with Strathpeffer residents during a recent summer surgery to listen to the community’s fears about speeding motorists on the A834.
“While speed limits and alerts have been installed in the centre of Strathpeffer, residents are hugely concerned about speeding along the whole section between Dingwall to Strathpeffer.
“The poor state of this road also brings additional dangers and these must be resolved to ensure improved road safety too.
“I am therefore writing to the Highland Council to ask them to consider whether a 40mph limit should be implemented on the A834, all the way from Dingwall to Strathpeffer.
“I am thankful to all the constituents who I met with at my surgery and to all those who have filled out my recent Strathpeffer Road Safety survey.”
